Vehicle Verifier Bond- DMV Bond

The California Department of Motor Vehicles requires vehicle verifiers to post $5,000 surety bonds to legally operate in California. The bond ensures that the vehicle verifier or inspector shall not cause any financial loss to the State of California resulting from unethical business conduct under the Vehicle Verifier permit. The bond also protects against losses to third parties due to incorrect verification of an engine, vehicle verification number, or hull identification number. The surety bond runs continuously through subsequent licensing and permit periods until canceled. The principal must reimburse the surety for all damages paid out.
